The Place Where Three Dreams Cross

Wavering between the profit and the loss

in this brief transit where the dreams cross

the dream crossed twilight between birth and dying

…the place of solitude where three dreams cross

This exhibition brought together artists from Western Australia, Central Australia and Tasmania to explore the ways in which the dreams, ambitions and interventions of past and present generations have inscribed themselves upon the land, shaping not only the environment we inhabit today, but also the legacy we leave for those to come.

Featuring work by Susanna Castleden, Mark Datodi, Chantale Delrue, Dulcie Greeno, Bevan Honey, Irrunytju Artists, David Stephenson, Holly Story and Martin Walch, the exhibition presented diverse cultural and geographical perspectives unified by a shared concern with the transformations of place.

Through photography, printmaking, sculpture, installation and fibre art, these artists interrogate the cumulative effects of human presence on the environment, raising urgent questions about land use, memory, belonging and responsibility. Their works speak to the entanglement of personal and collective aspirations with ecological change, inviting viewers to reflect on whether our pursuit of progress contributes to the vitality of the world, or leaves it irrevocably diminished.

At its core, the exhibition challenges us to reconsider the impact of our existence: do we act as stewards of the future, or as agents of its depletion?
